Manga Review: Spy x Family Vol.3 by Tatsuya Endo.

Master spy Twilight is unparalleled when it comes to going undercover on dangerous missions for the betterment of the world. But when he receives the ultimate assignment—to get married and have a kid—he may finally be in over his head!

Twilight has overcome many challenges in putting together the Forger family, but now all his hard work might come undone when Yor’s younger brother Yuri pops in for a surprise visit! Can Twilight outsmart Yuri, who actually works for the Ostanian secret service?!

SPYxFAMILY is one of my favorite mangas of all time. Honestly, it’s a delightfully fun manga with lots of action, comedy, and suspense. I get so giddy and excited

The couple themselves are sugary sweet yet highly hilarious. They are a mismatch that obviously gets along but seems to not admit they are the perfect pair. Add in the amusing scenarios they get into for their missions and you’ve got one winning combination. It’s fun, light-hearted, and an absolute joy. It’s what I want out of my mangas.

The brother-in-law scenario was full of hijinks that had me snickering and full-on addicted to this series. It’s only getting better! It’s rare for me to actually giggle along with a book (other than having a small smile at the funny parts), so it was such a gem to have that again! That’s how good of a book this was to me. It’s actually really funny. There were also some chaotic date night shenanigans that occurred (that our leads weren’t necessarily aware of) that made this book go over the top and be even better.

The best chapters in this volume are the ones where at least three family members are involved in the story. It started strong with the opening chapter of Loid meeting his worst nemesis, a brother-in-law with a sister complex working for the secret police. The volume ends with a special chapter of Loid and Yor on a date with Anya trailing the couple like the hero from her favorite spy anime.

So, yes – this is one of my favorite series and I will continue to grab all of the volumes that I can. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it to everyone seeking some spy-filled comedy in their lives.

My rating: 5/5 stars.
