This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2020! CURSE was one of my favorite reads of 2019, I loved Harper and Rhen and Grey so freaking much, I loved the plot, everything. My hopes were SO high — and then the first few chapters of this book completely erased everything that happened in book 1.
On one hand, the pacing is good and the first 35% definitely flew right by.
On the other hand, that’s probably because nothing happened except ruining my experience of this series. I was so excited about this book and I couldn’t wait to read it and then I started reading it. *sigh* And my world ended. I knew beforehand that this book would focus on Grey’s storyline but I couldn’t imagine that Rhen’s character development would be so erased. I mean it’s like nothing happened in CURSE, he was back to his cruel self and Harper only showed up like 4 times in the entirety of the book. No romance progression, no romance scenes, no romance at all.
I made the decision to DNF because I couldn’t bring myself to pick it up and read I wasn’t interested in the story anymore.( I would probably watch a book talk for the important parts so I would be prepared for book 3 which will include Rhen and Harper Brigid told me that herself)
My rating is 2/5 stars.
