The Diviners by Libba Bray ( The Diviners #1) Review.

*This review contains SPOILERS!

I really enjoyed this! Such a well-written story with so many details!
LOVED the New York 20s set! The narrative is the third person and follows dozens of characters, although Evie is the clear main character, and there are about 6 others who the story really revolves around. I thought each character felt unique and was interesting. The story was very well crafted. The book is about 600 pages and follows many characters. It wasn’t hard to keep names or stories straight, and they all wove together. There was one main villain/mystery in this book, and I thought everything else was revolving around him, only to find out at the end that he was only part of the story. There are a few different characters with their own romantic links. I was pretty much taken by surprise with Jericho’s role because it came out of nowhere, so I have to make a note of this. Jericho started showing interest in a female character seemingly out of nowhere, I did not buy him as a love interest because I felt he had no chemistry with her. But for me I prefer Sam’s relationship with Evie it’s more fun and I think they are good together. Hopefully in the next book.o many series I’ve read lately have just cut right off in the middle of the story to be picked up next book, with no sense of closure whatsoever. So, major points. There were a few things left unanswered, and that didn’t actually bother me because this is the start of a series and I can tell that everything will come into play.
My rating is 4.5\5 stars.
